HOW THE SHOW GOT STARTED: Drunken Nights was created by
CopyLifted and Taylor Blade after a slurred
speech infested debate over "what type of beer was superior". Between the alcohol induced arguments, and overall prickish-ness of the points therein, only one thing was decided. They were both random, raving, ranting assholes, who placed in the same room could create some of the most offensive yet
extremely hilarious comments known to the commonly sober man. It was
certain, together the comedy factor was undeniable. A few shows later it was obvious, Drunken Nights was here to stay. CopyLifted became known for his absolute craziness in on-air stunts, (On-air corndog insertion), and fights with his wife (DG, from "OMEGA Vagina's", and "DG's Story Hour") while broadcasting. Taylor became known for his unquestionable ability to rant, string
obscenities together in extremely long winded, fast paced segments of insanity, and was dubbed by listeners and staff as "King Ranter".
CopyLifted left the show in April, 2006, due to personal issues. While it was clear the show would never be the same, Taylor refused to let it die without a fight, and began his search for a new co-host. He ran across Deez, who was curiously all too interested in fill the opening. Taylor in a drunken stupor thought "oh, fuck it". The first show following this decision was, for lack of a better word, "interesting". It wasn't quite the same, but wasn't quite the
disaster everyone expected in CopyLifted's absence. A few shows later, Taylor and Deez, had developed a chemistry. While that chemistry was slightly different, it was without a doubt still the same old Jaw-dropping wildness the listeners had come to know and love.
Taylor quit his beloved "rants" in early May, 2006, to the mass disappointment of Drunken Night's listeners, saying "It was most
assuredly the most unbelievable crock of shit, that anyone liked it to begin with. I pass the
torch of rant-hood to UberSkippy.". Taylor won WTFR's greatest ranter award a few weeks later. While he still maintained he was finished with his career in stringing
obscenities to prove a point. Rumors are currently circulating that Taylor "King Ranter" Blade is un-retiring his ranting
jersey, and coming back with a fucking vengeance. However, these rumors are as of yet, unconfirmed.
CopyLifted was also rumored to be planning his return to WTFR's airwaves. Whether these rumors are founded, and if he'll come back to
Drunken Nights or start a brand new show, is unknown. However, WTFR fans are filled with anticipation. WTFR and CopyLifted are yet to respond on this issues.
Deez was officially announced as co-host of Drunken Nights in early May, 2006. He is now accepted by the listeners and staff as a Drunken Night professional, and in true Drunken Night style will no longer go without alcohol intake, keeping his randomness seriously, and his wits about until he is dragged out of the local bar kicking, and screaming something along the lines of "It was only ONCE!"
DustinzGirl stopped making appearances on Drunken Nights
shortly after CopyLifted's leave.
Brionwoshmunky began a weekly segment on 'How the world will end" shortly after the original creation of Drunken Nights. His segment is considered to be on of the funniest segments on the show, with it's randomness. He has been compared to "Marvin" from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy due to the overwhelming likeness in mellow tones. BW says he will continue to do his segment, at least until the world really does end.
