(NASHVILLE, TN) Jas calls it "my own brand of blues". His fans call it "radio ready". But there’s no doubt that the sound is his and his alone…all the hooky melodies and memorable verse of your favorite pop-rock song infused with layers of complex rhythms and caged vocals that burst of independence. Jas Patrick began his musical study at the age of four when he received his first drum kit. A bit out of place in his urban Houston neighborhood, Jas was a quiet kid who kept to himself. While others his age were out in the streets, Jas was in his room honing his early musical skills…skills he came by honestly as the son of a professional musician.

Years later as Jas had just started college, his years of practice paid off as he secured a touring job as the drummer for an Atlantic Records recording artist and later with a Curb recording artist. The experience cemented his desire to make music his life and he quickly moved on to pursue other prospects- one of which neared deal completion until his writing partner backed out of the project at the last minute.

Devastated by the missed opportunity, Jas walked away from music altogether, concentrating instead on making a life in the ‘real world’. But it wasn’t long until the music called him back and this time he wanted to do it different…this time as a solo artist. He wanted to write all of his own songs, to become an accomplished guitarist and, at the urging and encouragement of friends, to become a singer.

Fast forward to 2006! These days, Jas has developed into one of those rare finds…a talented songwriter who plays multiple instruments and a distinctive singing voice. To date, Jas has written over 30 songs and, if you were to ask a fan, they all have a different favorite!

Drop

Band Bio:

Prior to October 2004 Drop was the brain child of Brian, and Jay. Back then Brian Wrote all the musical composition and Jay pulled down the percussion and rhythm for their project; which was still at this time in its infancy. Later they brought on Jimmy, who complimented the project with his writing, and years of guitar expertise. Brian continued to write scores of songs, which Jimmy added to and helped arrange.
By this time they were becoming accustom to each other's style, and wrote primarily straight forward rock in the commercial realm. The band pulled back and looked at what they really wanted to do, which lead to a complete revamp of their sound, and philosophy.

Some material was rearranged, some was dumped completely. They then continued writing, with Jim pulling down guitar, the lyrics, and singing, Brian on Guitar and back-up vocals, and Jay on Drums.

The band went through changes throughout time, with their Vocal and Bass personnel. But Jimmy, Brian, and Jay hung tough.
They then brought on Scott for Vocals and Bass in January of 2006. Scott decided it would do the band as a whole justice to focus on vocals; the band agreed. Jimmy and Brian at this point kept writing, and arranging. This was complemented by Scott’s lyrics writing, going forward.

They now have the mix of talent that they feel makes them who they want to be, now including their new bass player Amy.  Drop has hand picked Amy, who brings something to the table that adds the “missing element”. With her onboard, they keep writing, innovating, and evolving their sound.

On Thursday June 9th 2006, Drop was added to the extended WTFR family, with an interview that aired on Tower of Uber and Power. WTFR and The Tower will be closely following Drop's progress, and bringing you more music, and interviews as they grow, and progress in their promising musical career.

Rapeublicans

Band Bio:

Since May 2005, Rapeublicans have been sexually assaulting San Diego with their raw, screechy, original breed of thrash/slow-punk (yeah, oxymoron).  Consisting of Alexander Metson on vox, David Miller on axe, and Johnny Diaz on the boomstix, this trio started off in Alex's garage with nothing but two amps, an axe, some ratty old drums, a pair of headphones, and an overall lack of musical knowledge.  Recorded through a pair of headphones in tha same garage, later painstakingly lettered with magazine clippings, and somethered in Alex's blood five copies of their debut I Love Nike A Go Go demo were sent to various industry insiders.  AntiChris, genius behind The Raped, Yummy Fur, We Are Going To Eat You Records, and Pandacide Records was immediately charmed by their crass, unorganized "music".  He immediately signed them onto  W.A.G.T.E.Y, driving nine hours from the Bay Area to record their first official release, the Rapeublicans EP.  It blew.  AntiCrhis was on too much drugs, and they weren't on enough.  They broke up officially a few months later before re-forming in December 2005, with remixed cuts from the EP and an unreleased song for a new demo, Bush Is sXe, soon to be released on We Are Going To Eat You Records, 4/5 of the demo's song available on their Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/rapeublicans They have currenty booked a few shows shown in the San Diego area and are working on a full-length album.
